Marvel officially announced the ensemble for the much-anticipated “The Fantastic Four” film on Valentine’s Day, surprising fans. The movie, featuring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, is set to hit theaters in July 2025. This move by Disney aims to revitalize ticket sales, addressing recent declines in some Marvel films.

Marvel’s iconic superhero quartet, the first creations by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, will feature Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (the Thing).

As part of this casting revelation, Disney has exchanged the release dates for “The Fantastic Four” (now on July 25, 2025) and “Thunderbolts” (now on May 2, 2025). These are two of the four Marvel blockbusters scheduled for 2025, alongside “Captain America: Brave New World” in February and “Blade” in November. Marvel has a lineup of four films for 2026, including “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” indicating a notable increase from 2024, where only “Deadpool & Wolverine” is slated for theaters on July 26.

The announcement, designed with a 1960s vibe, solidifies Pascal’s role as Dr. Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (the Thing), and Quinn as Johnny Storm (the Human Torch).

The release date for “The Fantastic Four” on July 25, 2025, marks one of several changes, as it was initially scheduled for Valentine’s Day 2025.

Pedro Pascal, currently in the spotlight for his Emmy-nominated performance in HBO’s “The Last Of Us,” is also recognized for his lead role as Din Djarin in Disney+’s “The Mandalorian.”

Similar to Pascal, Moss Bachrach has a Star Wars connection with his role in the first season of “Andor” last year. However, audiences may more readily identify him from his portrayal of Richie in Hulu’s comedy series, “The Bear.”

Kirby, who recently appeared in “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One,” is best known for her portrayal of Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of Netflix’s “The Crown.”

Quinn gained prominence for portraying Eddie Munson in the latest season of “Stranger Things,” embodying a character that sparked some of the season’s most widely shared and talked-about moments.

The casting for the arch-nemesis of The Fantastic Four, Dr. Victor Von Doom (Dr. Doom), is still pending. There’s speculation that this pivotal character, integral to various Marvel comics, might be reserved for a distinct, more extensive Marvel film.
